Bogusław (Bodek) Macal is a Polish photographer. He became interested in photography while in high school after acquiring a Belomo Vilia automatic, which he used to capture most of the scouting events he attended back in the 1990s. In his view, photography allows for imprinting one’s vision of reality. Bodek enjoys photographic projects on nature, portraits, and urban unknown characters, He is fascinated by discovering places that are not easily accessible. His dream, he states, is to take a photographic winter-long expedition to Siberia, with mandatory visits to the frozen Lake Baikal, and to places where small towns hide simple and sincere people while also being exposed to the unblemished majesty of the local nature.

I felt my lungs inflate with the onrush of scenery—air, mountains, trees, people.
I thought, ‘This is what it is to be happy.'
