Sarah Gentry is a young self-taught photographer from Mission Viejo, California. She started taking pictures with a family camera, mainly of nature. Now, she has expanded to other interests, such as self-portraiture, bodies, identity, mirror images, oneness, and light.
Sarah’s work is characterized by an inner questioning of the universe that translates into images that become metaphors for specific issues. Several photographs that appear here, for example, are from the body, not just of adults but also of youth, insects, and animals, to address questions of the self, belonging, suffering, happiness, ecstasy, and even the possibility of death. It does not take an expert to notice that the photographer here acts as a philosopher.
