Ellen Ratten is a film photographer living on Boon Wurrung land/ Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia. She draws inspiration from deep human intimacy and connection, physical photographs, old family archives and the raw beauty of nature surrounding her. She seeks things which are true and beautiful. This induces her to shoot exclusively with film, allowing her to create nostalgic, heart-centered images that represent our genuine, deep connection to each other.
The selection of Ellen’s photographs that we introduce here, in the editor’s opinion, reveals our differences to point out that we are not different; to be a human is to be all humans.
